I can offer you several options:

Online counselling by either email or Secure live Sessions using encrypted instant messenging facilities, and also face to face counselling appointments.

    Email Counselling
If you choose the email counselling route, this is how it will work:
You write and send me a first email. I will compile my reply and send it to you. My reply will involve a thorough exploration of your email and I will endeavour to reflect on any themes or patterns that you may wish to work on with me. Over the course of our email exchanges, one aspect of my role will be to create a positive, non-judgemental working relationship which enables you to feel supported and trusting in the counselling process.

Your first email to me is without cost. From this initial stage we will then agree an appointment time when you will email your reply, and also a time when you will receive your reply from me (unless a delay is caused by technical problems) I will charge a fee for each email I send to you once we have arranged our ongoing appointments.

    Synchronous,or Live online counselling sessions
For clients who select this option we would have exchanged an initial email or two (without charge), whilst in the process of deciding if online counselling is the most suitable form of support for the issues you wish to discuss. We would then go ahead and arrange an appointment time that is convenient to you, using a secure instant chat facility
If you choose Online counselling we can work by email exchange or by Instant messenging live meetings, or both if you wish. Both methods can be beneficial for therapy exchanges and we would negotiate this depending on what feels best for you

    Face to face Counselling
If you choose face to face Counselling we will arrange an initial appointment to asses how I can help you, and then proceed with ongoing appointments as required.

  • About Counselling and Online Counselling

Taking time to read this page may provide information which could be useful to help you make a decision on the best choice for you before you engage in counselling. In all cases giving careful attention to both the medium of counselling being offered and the qualifications and experience of your chosen counsellor is an important factor in this.
Counselling can be beneficial where a person is experiencing either personal or relationship difficulties. It provides an opportunity to explore those difficulties with a counsellor in a confidential, Ethical, and supportive manner which may not be available to you in any other context. Clients often say that talking to a professional who has no personal pre- conceived ideas or view regarding what is best for the individual can provide a positive environment for them to find both a way forward with a problem and also a way of not feeling influenced by others views. This can be difficult when talking with a friend or family member as they will often have an opinion which may conflict with what you would choose as the best option for yourself.

    Online Counselling and Online Therapy

Want to find out more about online counselling?
Online counselling is a relatively new medium for offering personal support. This form of counselling is not for everyone and is not intended to replace face-to-face counselling or therapy especially if you already working with a counsellor or therapist. However many find online counselling is just what they need to fit in with a busy lifestyle and receive support for a variety of problems and issues.

What equipment would I need to be able to do Synchronous or Real Time counselling?
You will need a computer with Internet access for online counselling. It is helpful to have broadband, or a fairly fast connection .

On-line therapy is not intended for individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties or for those who are actively suicidal. It is also not for individuals who are in crisis, or who need an immediate response to their e-mail. If you feel you are in danger of harming yourself contact the Samaritans
Online counselling is also not intended for individuals under the age of 18.

    Advantages of Online Counselling

  • You can speak freely about sensitive or embarrassing issues.

  • You can engage in therapy in the comfort of your own home or in a location where you have access to a computer and are able to ensure your privacy. Online Counselling can be during the day or evening, at a time to suit you.

  • It is easily accessible, especially for those who cannot, or choose not to leave their home to seek counselling.

  • You will have time to reflect on your writing and the responses given and keep email exchanges from the online counselling.

  • It is affordable and can fit around non- regular hours if you have a busy life style or work shifts

  • With online therapy you don't have to wait for an appointment, which at times can take weeks to arrange for private face to face counselling

  • Online counselling can help if you feel uncomfortable about counselling and feel there is a stigma attached to seeking counselling support.

  • You are in control of your counselling from the beginning to end and you negotiate with the counsellor for the amount of sessions which feels right for you

  • Fees

Face to face Counselling: £45 per session
Online Counselling: £35 per session, or £25 per session where 4 appointments or more are paid for in advance ( email or secure Instant Messenging)
Online counselling is also available using Skype with webcam- these are £45 per one hour appointment, or £160 if 4 sessions are booked as a block

All fees are payable in advance through the Papal link provided and your ongoing counselling exchanges will commence once I have received your payment.
