Online counselling for your current practice- ensuring compliance with the BACP competencies for online and telephone counselling
OCST will be running one day workshops on on Saturday from February 2022 for those counselling practitioners who are offering online counselling for their clients and require CPD input to help reflect upon the delivery of your practice, to comply with BACP and ACTO competency requirements. The workshops are also relevant for those practitioners who have an interest in online counselling, but only have limited or no experience of offering this to clients.
Due to the ongoing Pandemic situation with Corona Virus, this competency is proving to be a requirement for all counsellors who wish to continue working with existing online clients, and to offer new clients counselling via webcam or voice only.
This day workshop will provide all essential details for effective, ethical, and legally compliant delivery of webcam or voice only online counselling. The workshops commence at 10-00am until 3-00pm ( with regular breaks, experiential learning, and opportunuty to work in small groups). A full range of reading resources, ethical and legal compliance guidelines will be provided to students.
The workshop will be held completely online. The workshop fees is £85 per delegate place and a CPD will be issued for successful completion. If you would like further information or to register please use the email facility on the OCST website. Places are limited so it is advised to register during January 2022.
It has been recommended by BACP and ACTO that counsellors who offer an online practice receive in-depth training to achieve standards for online counselling practice, and due to the ongoing pandemic situation counsellors are being advised to familiarise themselves fully with the requirements to work online and then to seriously consider moving onto more in depth training with recognised training providers. The OCST workshops cover these requirements and will help you feel confident in the delivery of your service to e-clients, plus demonstrate your commitment for compliance to ethical requirements for online service delivery to clients.Following attendance at one of the OCST workshops delegates will have the opportunity to register for a more in-depth OCST programme which offers elgibility for ACTO level 2 membership upon successful completion.
